No matter where or what she's playing, saxophonist Briana Carrasquillo approaches music with enthusiasm, creativity, and a good sense of humor. Her diverse musical background keeps her busy playing everything from jazz standards to rock and roll to wind band literature.
Briana holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. While at Alabama, she was involved in numerous school ensembles, and also held a busy gig schedule in the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham area. Briana moved to Colorado in July of 2012, and she is currently pursuing a master's degree in jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado. She plays regularly in the Northern Colorado area and has performed with local musicians including Mark Sloniker, Ryan Fourt, Matt Smiley, and Kelsey Shiba.
Briana is an alumna of the Disneyland All-American College Band, a prestigious program comprised of some of the nation's top college jazz musicians. As part of the band, she performed in Disneyland and worked with guest artists including Arturo Sandoval, Gregg Field, Jiggs Whigham, and John Clayton.
Bri is also an active educator and is available for private lessons and masterclasses with instruction in jazz, classical, and popular music styles.
